Todd Mcginnis
Dr. Todd McGinnis, PhD, is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with 17 years of experience providing individual, family, group, and crisis response services within various clinical treatment settings. His areas of specialization include working with adult males, females, adolescents, who struggle with substance abuse, trauma, depression, anxiety, suicidality, criminality, bereavement, and phases of life concerns. He effectively uses, evidence-base techniques, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused, Spirituality, Reminiscence, and Life Review. He is an ally with the following communities, Racial Justice and Criminal Injustice. He views himself as open-minded, cognizant and attentive to cultures other than his own. Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area influenced his perception of diversity. In addition, due to his many years working within the California Department of Corrections and County Jail systems has shaped his ability to demonstrate compassion to those facing difficulty challenges. Dr. McGinnis is passionate to help the individual thinker develop an awareness, for him or herself to cultivate his or her own power and take the path of self-discovery. The circumstances of ones live constantly drawn to and repelled by one's mental environment. Nothing will change unless the subjective conditions frequency of thoughts and emotions are altered. The three strongest mental types on earth are most likely fear, anxiety, and doubt. They will take away all of your ambitions. Dr. McGinnis will help you identify and remove the limiting ideas, beliefs, and perceptions that keeps one stuck. Dr. McGinnis attended California State University, Fresno. He achieved a Bachelor of Arts in Commutative Disorders, with an emphasis in Speech Language Pathology and Master's of Science in Counseling, with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. In addition, he completed his Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology, PhD, from Walden University, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
