Dr. Johnson is originally from Kansas City, MO. She attended undergrad at Truman State University, graduating in 1998. She moved to Atlanta days after graduating to attend the Georgia School of Professional Psychology (Argosy University). She graduated in 2001 with a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in child and family assessment. She transferred schools and moved to Springfield, MO to be closer to home. She graduated from the Forest Institute of Professional Psychology in 2006 with an emphasis in marriage and family therapy just after completing her pre-doctoral internship in Lincoln, Nebraska at Nebraska Mental Health Centers. This clinic utilized an integrated healthcare approach in which patients could receive both medical and behavioral health services. Dr. Johnson completed her postdoctoral fellowship at Western Missouri Mental Health Center through the University of Missouri at Kansas City. This was an inpatient psychiatric facility in which she evaluated and treated severely and persistently mentally ill adults and children as young as 6 years old. Dr. Johnson's career has mostly been spent within the nonprofit space and within federally qualified health centers. She currently works for the Family Court of St. Louis County, Missouri. Dr. Johnson is skilled in providing individual, couples, and family therapy for children, adolescents, and adults.
