When a person feels they have lost their way, it is often because they have lost their why. My ideal client is someone who is it trying to get back on track, reach goals, find their why so they can see their way. I am dedicated to helping individuals overcome their struggles and live healthier, happier lives.
I am committed to providing professional, ethical, compassionate and effective support to any person who is depressed, angry, frustrated, irritated, stressed, anxious, traumatized or grieving. My passion lies in empowering others to heal and thrive, one step at a time. I am trained in unique trauma therapy techniques such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR),Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Polyvagal theory in addition to traditional talk therapy methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), allowing me to provide comprehensive and effective mental, physical, emotional and spiritual treatment for my clients.
I am married, have three adult children and 2 pre-school grandchildren. I have life experience with aging grandparents/parents and their care as well as raising kids/grandkids. My life also comes with grief and loving people who identify as addicts, serious medical struggles and many other struggles life brings along the way (PCOS, PMDD. Miscarriage, postpartum depression to add to the list). I am a survivor of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault and am trained as Victim Advocate. With a compassionate mind, body and spirit approach, I am committed to helping individuals heal to be free to live the healthy happy lives of their dreams.
On the addictions side of my specialty, I take an ‘addiction as trauma’ approach. I believe everyone picks up the first time out of curiosity, it is that second use, that beacons the question of ‘why?”. I am familiar with the 12 steps of recovery for the client suffering from a use disorder, be it alcohol and/or drugs but also food, gambling, sex, shopping, gaming and/or porn. I am also experienced helping family members of people dealing with use disorders and the Alanon program.
