Hello, I'm Sharon. Life is difficult to navigate at times, especially when going through major life transitions. These times can greatly impact our well-being, especially if we do not have the proper tools to work through them. It can seem impossible to deal with these life stressors and escape from the overwhelming feelings that accompany them. I can help guide your mental health journey, and together we can explore effective interventions you can use to manage the challenges life throws at you.
In 2014, I graduated from Hazelden Betty Ford Graduate School of Addiction Studies with a Master's Degree in Mental Health and Addiction Counseling. Since then, I have been working as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC). My journey in this field has allowed me to work with a variety of clients experiencing depression, anxiety, addiction, bipolar disorder, and other mental health concerns. Before transitioning to private practice, I gained valuable experience in residential and outpatient settings, providing treatment for mental health and substance use disorders.
I work with adults and children using evidence-based interventions, including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based therapies, and acceptance and commitment therapy. My approach is centered on developing a trusting relationship where you feel heard, respected, and supported. Together, we will work to break down the seemingly insurmountable barriers you feel in your life.
I specialize in addressing a wide range of issues, including addiction, anger management, anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, developmental disabilities, family relationships, grief/bereavement, intimate/romantic relationships, life transitions, stress, LGBTQIA+ support, borderline personality disorder, medical issues/physical health, OCD, and suicidal ideation/self-harming. Additionally, I offer SonderMind Video Telehealth for those who prefer or require remote sessions.
Outside of my professional life, I am passionate about continuous learning and staying updated with the latest advancements in mental health care. This dedication ensures that I provide the best possible support to my clients.
If you're ready to take the next step in your mental health journey, I invite you to reach out. Let's work together to find the path to a healthier, more fulfilling life.
