"Shana Schmitz is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from George Fox University, earned in 2017. She specializes in trauma/PTSD, bipolar disorders, mood disorders, suicidality, and anxiety disorders. Shana provides client-centered positive psychology, combining techniques such as Trauma-Informed CBT, DBT, EFT, SFBT, IFS, and Somatic Therapy approaches, including body-based, polyvagal, and neurobiological methods. She is currently completing training in Complex PTSD and CCPT-II certification. Shana’s philosophy emphasizes walking beside her clients on their journey, utilizing individualized, evidence-based treatments with non-judgmental empathy, compassion, genuine curiosity, and gentle guidance. She values trust-building and active collaboration within the therapeutic relationship, recognizing the complexities and unexpected turns that may arise during therapy. Since 2018, Shana has worked with non-profit organizations providing community mental health care, serving a diverse clientele through various mental health challenges and life transitions. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, engaging in outdoor activities such as camping, being on the water, and landscaping."
