Finding a mental health provider is challenging and scary. There are plenty of worries, concerns and fears when trying to find someone that is a good fit for you and your mental health goals. "Will the provider judge me? Will anyone understand? There is no way anyone will get what I am experiencing!". Maybe it is not just fear but maybe there is also shame, guilt, embarrassment, or hopelessness around what you are going through. I will be the first to say mental health does not discriminate and all people go through hardship. My primary goal in working with a client is to establish a working rapport and trust in the beginning to help the client feel comfortable and safe. I will go at the pace the client sets and provide interventions that accommodate your readiness in treatment.
What can you expect from me?:
In treatment we will focus on how your symptoms are presenting and impacting your life, how you have developed thought processes, regulate your emotions, how you cope and interventions that will challenge you to create any necessary healthy positive change. You can expect me to challenge you and hold you accountable in areas of growth.
About my experience:
I have been working in the mental health field since 2014 and have been independently licensed since 2021. In the last ten years I have spent much of my career working with families and individuals struggling with adjustments, substance use, post-partum distress, anxiety disorders, relationship stress, depression, anger, self-esteem, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. I also have years of experience working with adolescents struggling with defiance disorders and assisting families with in-home adaptations and interventions. My modality uses parts of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused methods, Strength-Based approaches.
I believe taking care of your mental health is the catalyst to taking care of your physical health as well. Frequently feeling bad and carrying a lot of stress impacts your body as a whole. If you are starting to feeling the physical and mental burden of ignoring your mental health symptoms, it is time to take a chance on treatment.
