Her past includes working as the Director for the Epilepsy Foundation for the National Capital Area and Multiple Sclerosis Society in Santa Clara, CA Sandy also served on the Institute of Medicine (IOM), for the Public Health Dimensions of the Epilepsies. Her research has focused on resilience, adaptive coping, quality of life, and parent stress among chronic health populations. She has published several papers and held faculty appointments in Neurology, Rehabilitation, and Pediatrics at the George Washington University School of Medicine. Ms. Cushner-Weinstein holds licenses in Clinical Social Work and Physical Therapy in several states.
