Greetings!
It takes courage to give yourself what you need. Thank you for taking time to learn about me.
My approach to therapy is collaborative, educational and down to earth. We focus on how you are getting through it, what's working and what areas to focus on. Often, it's the ways we have learned to adapt and cope that create barriers to an authentic and free life. I am also a fan of client education, offering tools to help you better understand and manage your thinking, emotions and relationships.
My areas of interest include childhood trauma, painful anxiety and depression, difficult relationships and life stress. I stay up to date on trainings in clinical modalities such as trauma therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, somatic interventions and mindfulness practices.
Along with my clinical training, I have a long life of experience that brings compassion, wisdom and practicality to our work. I'm here to support you. I seek to create a safe and supportive space where you feel heard and understood, and where we can explore challenges at your own pace.
I've been a Social Worker since 2003, working in community development and home hospice. I became a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in 2014 when I started in private practice. Before becoming a social worker, I worked in corporate and retail Marketing. That changed on 9/11 while I was living in New York and felt a deeper calling to help.
Outside of my professional life, I enjoy the outdoors, live music, dancing and being in community with friends and family.
Let's walk together on your journey towards greater well-being.
