Hello, I'm Rita, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Indiana. I graduated from Indiana University South Bend with a Master of Science in Education, Clinical Mental Health Counseling (MSEd). For over seven years, I've had the privilege of working with individuals and families in our community, helping them navigate life's challenges and transitions.
In my practice, I work with children, adults, couples, and families, utilizing a variety of therapeutic approaches including Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). I believe in a holistic approach to wellness, educating individuals and families about the different dimensions of wellness in our lives—emotional, physical, spiritual, and relational. My goal is to assist you in finding greater satisfaction and balance in these areas.
I provide psychoeducation on a variety of mental health symptoms, including anxiety and depression, and help you explore and process your thoughts and feelings regarding your stressors. Empowerment is a key aspect of my work; I aim to teach assertive communication skills to help you 'find your voice' in relationships, at work, and in the community, ultimately boosting your self-esteem.
Specializing in areas such as PTSD, life transitions, intimate and romantic relationships, trauma, children's mental and behavioral health, bipolar disorder, anger management, grief and bereavement, anxiety, spirituality, LGBTQIA+ support, family relationships, depression, suicidal ideation and self-harming, stress, adolescent and teen mental and behavioral health, ADHD, and sex and intimacy issues, I am here to support you through a wide range of challenges.
Outside of my professional life, I value the importance of maintaining a balanced and fulfilling life. I strive to bring this perspective into my work, helping you to achieve a sense of well-being and fulfillment.
I look forward to the opportunity to work with you and support you on your journey towards healing and growth. Please feel free to reach out and take the first step towards a more satisfying and empowered life.
