Hi! Welcome to my page! I am SO glad you are here, and I look forward to working with you.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, licensed in Missouri with over 13 years of experience, working with adolescents, young adults, and their families. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including anxiety and depression, family and relationship issues (including family of origin), school concerns, substance misuse, abuse and addiction, and many others. I have also helped my clients explore and work through trauma, especially childhood trauma.
As a therapist, I am warm, empathetic and supportive. Because I believe in the importance of cultural competence beyond an annual training required of my for my licensure, I take a sensitive, compassionate and open-minded approach with all the clients I serve. I truly believe in treating each individual client as the expert in their own lives, and that it is my privilege to walk along side you through it. I use a variety of approaches to best serve my clients, including cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, solution focused approaches, as well as engaging the strengths and creativity of the clients I serve. I also utilize motivational interviewing skills, am versed in the 12-step recovery world, and am EMDR informed. I try very hard to be a well informed, open minded and accepting therapist, working with a myriad of populations, but also knowing my limitations when a client may not be a good match for what I have to offer as a therapist.
Please also note that you won’t see openings on my schedule because I work with my clients individually to set a time that works best for them week to week, and at this time I am only able to see clients virtually.
I am so glad you are here and that you took the time to read through my profile and to consider allowing me to walk along side you in this journey!
Looking forward to working with you!
