Nancy Nickerson
Life can feel overwhelming at times. Negative thoughts and feelings can interrupt attempts to have a balanced, peaceful existence. I am skilled at working in partnership with a willing person to identify such unhelpful interruptions and I will work in unison with you to develop better choices. In particular, we can, step by step, identify positive ways to reward improved behaviors so that you feel better sooner! I have been a Social Worker for 46 years. I worked for the Ohio Department of Mental Health for 20 years. In 1992, I earned a Master's Degree in Social Work, with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health. I am licensed in Ohio as an LISW - SUPV. I have helped adults, including former inmates, and youth, achieve balanced, enriched lives and become grateful contributors to their communities. I help people in areas such as LGBTQ+ issues, people who have difficulty accepting the way they look, individuals and families who struggle with alcohol and other substance abuse issues, food addiction, anxiety, depression, and grief. I also specialize in helping families to prepare to foster or adopt a child. I look forward to developing a partnership with you. Remember, I will learn as much from you as you will learn from me!
