Hello, I'm Lucy.
“You can’t stop the waves, but you can learn to surf.” - Jon Kabat-Zinn
Life is full of change. Big and small transitions often leave people feeling anxious, stressed, and overwhelmed. Even good change can be difficult. I take a tailored approach to counseling, as the feelings of discomfort are different for each of us. As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with an MA, and Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach, I have experience working in both individual and corporate settings. I bring compassion, honesty, humor, strategy, and planning to our work together. I believe that your unique strengths, skills, and values are the tools you have within to create a joyful life.
My relationship with you is at the heart of our work together. I value a collaborative process and believe you ultimately have the answers. My job is to guide you through the process. We will identify and address your current and past challenges, but our primary focus will be on your unique and innate strengths. We explore these in depth and identify how best to use them so that you are able to thrive regardless of the situation. I use a Solution-Focused, Strengths-Based approach that is rooted in positive psychology.
I specialize in helping clients navigate life transitions, manage stress and anxiety, support military and veterans, improve family and intimate relationships, handle anger management, and provide perinatal support including pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum care. Additionally, I assist with ADHD, sleep disorders and medical issues related to physical health.
I believe that being engaged, energized, and connected in our lives is the outcome of bringing our authentic strengths to the table every day. When we know how to leverage what comes naturally, we can ebb and flow—surfing the ups and downs of life. Sometimes we can even enjoy the challenge. If you find yourself facing something that is impacting your overall well-being, let’s talk! Together we can hone your talents and improve your quality of life.
In addition to general support, I do career-specific counseling and am happy to help you navigate career-based challenges.
