Lucas Dieckhaus
I help survivors overcome past traumas in order to help them begin to heal. After I obtained my master’s in counseling from Webster University, I started my career working in the world of non-profit mental health. It was during this time that I realized that we in the mental health community were often treating the wrong thing, our clients tended to be struggling with Trauma more than anything, but we’d be focused on substance use, depression, and anxiety. This would lead to stagnation, due to the real issues not being addressed. It was at that time I dedicated my professional career to becoming as well versed in trauma and it’s treatment as I could. I am trained to help survivors using Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Seeking Safety. All of which are evidenced based practices designed to begin alleviating the symptoms of Trauma. As a therapist I have worked with a truly diverse crowd of people spanning all age ranges. I’ve worked with children as young as six and have worked with individuals well into their retirement years. I have been blessed to have the opportunity work in several different settings as well, from large cities to communities with only a few hundred people. These experiences have opened my world view tremendously and have been able to provide me with invaluable insight. At this point in my career I have decided to combine everything that I have learned and begin providing my services online so I can have the privilege to work with people from all over and from all walks of life.
