Hi! I am a heterosexual cisgender woman, and my husband and I have a high school aged son. I'm originally from St. Louis, Missouri but I have lived in Florida for 35 years and I consider it my home.
I think of myself as a girl-next-door therapist. New clients often tell me I'm easy to talk to. I like to use humor whenever possible. My approach is gentle and humble. I'll never go beyond your comfort level of discussion. My office is where you can spew your thoughts, cry, talk about yourself and even the thoughts you have that would be offensive to others. I have had clients say things about their life or people in their lives that would not be acceptable in most settings, and being able to talk about it is often very freeing.
I became a master's level social worker at 32, and my life experience prior to that enabled my ability to understand different types of people and what motivates them. I've been in this field for 16 years and I have worked in foster care, hospice and other medical settings and outpatient mental health settings.
