Therapy is a collaborative effort between the client and the therapist. Whether you're struggling with something specific or coming to therapy to improve your well-being and better know yourself, together we'll create a non-judgmental space where you can feel safe to explore life's challenges and begin to discover new ways of coping with, and moving beyond, emotional pain. As a therapist, I utilize evidence-based models such as cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, and the biology of human behavior. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a structured, goal-oriented type of therapy that helps people take a closer look at their thoughts and emotions. They’ll come to understand how they can unlearn negative thoughts and behaviors and learn to adopt healthier thinking patterns and habits. I have a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology with a specialty in Family Therapy, as well as a Master’s Degree in Biology with a specialty in Neurobiology. In my 21 years of experience as a family therapist, I have also found that explaining the biology of behavior in an easy-to-understand way to my clients, helps them understand how to modify behaviors, which empowers them to maximize their potential. I have extensive experience treating depression, anxiety, family discord, parenting problems, and relationship conflict, as well as adjustment, self-esteem, and work-related issues. Wherever you're starting from, I’m here to accompany you on that journey—we'll work not only on addressing challenges and trauma, but also on building a sense of internal safety. I work with adult clients of all ages.
