After graduating in 2012, I relocated to DC and took my first job at child and family services. From there I spent several years working in child welfare before earning my Clinical License in 2014 following receiving those credentials I worked in the school setting while managing my private practice which is now provided 100% virtually.
I am an individual and family clinical therapist who has focused most of my 9 years of practice working directly with children, families & young adults. I have experience with a wide demographic from age 3 through 80 workings in a variety of settings such as hospitals, law centers, government, child and family services, schools, private practice, and nursing homes. I have experience with a vast variety of presenting problems. I have a passion for resilience therapy and the ABC paradigm in which we teach decision-making skills at a young age to truly understand natural, good and bad consequences. Art therapy, attachment therapy, and grief work are also strengths of my practice including grief caused by chronic illness/invisible illness/rare diseases for both caregivers and patients.
My counseling style is warm and interactive. I am very flexible in both my practice in theory and logistics. I have a come as you are policy where you are always welcome to be your authentic self no matter how that looks in the moment. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic, solution-focused and family work. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. You have control of our sessions and together we will meet your goals at your speed in your way.
As a therapist, I am the first to tell you how difficult it is to not only say you need help but to go out and get it. I'm proud of you for looking and reading this. That is a win. This is the first step in the direction of setting yourself free from what binds you. You did that. I hope to get to know you more and work together. And if we are not the right fit or it's not the right time know you have resources in your corner. You are never alone.
Take a deep breath you are doing great.
