Hello, I'm Kimberly. I believe that my calling to be a therapist began long before I achieved my formal education. As a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker - Supervisor, I am passionate about providing the best care possible to my clients. I hold a Master of Science in Social Work from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Capital University, where I graduated Cum Laude in 1996. I've been an Independent Social Worker - Supervisor for the State of Ohio since 1994, and my journey in social work has taken me through various impactful roles.
I have extensive experience working in different areas of social work, including a significant tenure with the Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, where I served as the Recovery Services supervisor for 11.5 years, providing treatment to 2800 female inmates. Additionally, I was the Mental Health Director at CRSI in Urbana, Ohio. For the past three years, I have been running my private practice, and I've supervised mental health and substance abuse treatment for nearly 20 years.
In my practice, I provide evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, paralleling scripture with treatment to offer a holistic approach. My specialties include addiction, dementia, anger management, antisocial behavior, anxiety, ADHD, autism spectrum support, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, children's and adolescent mental/behavioral health, depression, developmental disabilities, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, family relationships, gender identity, grief/bereavement, LGBTQIA+ support, life transitions, medical issues/physical health, medication evaluation, military/veteran support, multicultural/diversity issues, narcissistic personality disorder, OCD, perinatal support, phobias, PTSD, intimate/romantic relationships, psychosis/schizophrenia, sex/intimacy issues, sleep disorders, somatic symptom disorder, spirituality, stress, suicidal ideation/self-harming, trauma, and traumatic brain injury.
I understand that seeking therapy can be a daunting step, but I am here to support you through any challenges you may face. Whether you are dealing with the loss of a loved one, divorce, domestic violence, substance abuse, or any other mental health issue, I am here to help. I also offer depression assessments for spinal stimulator implants and drug and alcohol assessments. Group alcohol and drug treatment, as well as family treatment for clients dependent on alcohol or drugs, are available.
On a personal note, I have two grown sons, a Yorkie Pom, and my latest fur baby, a Maine Coon named Saymon from Poland, and Jazzy from Ukraine. I love Jesus Christ and strive to integrate my faith into my practice to provide the best possible care.
No one will be turned away from counseling regardless of their ability to pay. Our office hours are Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feel free to stop by for a cup of coffee at our coffee bar anytime.
