I am licensed clinical social worker with over 10 years of experience providing mental health treatment to individuals and families in Maryland. In my work with clients I aim to cultivate a partnership that allows me to walk alongside my clients in their journey to achieve their goals. I have experience working with people who have suffered with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, trauma, among many other mental health concerns. It is my belief that an open, genuine and trusting relationship with your therapist can produce healing. Therefore, it is essential to me that I meet my clients with compassion and authenticity and I seek to always make sure my clients feel safe, heard, and valued.
My approach to care is trauma-informed and grounded in the knowledge that each client is unique. With this in mind I utilize an eclectic approach to curate treatment plans that incorporate treatment modalities designed meet clients' individual needs. Evidence based treatment approaches that inform my care include cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, solution-focused treatment, and mindfulness.
While my focus has always been and remains to service anyone who is suffering or desires to improve their mental health, I do want to highlight that I have a particular passion for working with women in their perinatal phase of life and have advanced training in this area. As a mom of three who also recently gave birth, I am able to relate and connect with my clients who are currently living in this very special and sensitive stage. The transition from pregnancy to postpartum is a rare and beautiful time in a woman's life but can also be incredibly overwhelming. My belief is that increased support and connection to community is essential when navigating the unique challenges that can be imposed by motherhood and which can lead to the development of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. In my work I help women to draw on these supports and to know they are not alone in their journey.
