My name is Kateena James. I am a graduate of Florida A&M University and Florida State University. My first career was in Health Information Management. Prior to becoming a counselor, I realized that people from all walks of life, have always felt comforted when talking to me. After experiencing many life transitions, I have been drawn to working with individuals that experience the same. This led to my career change and pursuit of a master’s degree in Counseling.
Many of my clients are challenged with supporting family, parents, broken relationships, and career problems have been able to grow and navigate the seasons of life. My personality and listening skills combined with my training makes me well-suited to be a therapist. I have worked with clients in many settings, including rural communities, prisons, college, K-12 schools, inpatient, and outpatient facilities. As a result, I have acquired skills that support clients in managing mental wellness challenges. My training includes treatment for trauma, depression, and anxiety. My trainings and experience help me to build a practice that is supportive of clients from all walks of life.
