Hello, nice to meet you. My name is Julie, and I'm here to meet you where you are, work with you on the things that brought you to this point, and explore what we can do to help it all feel better. I believe there isn't a one-size-fits-all theory or method of therapy that works for everyone, or even the same person all the time. Therefore, I tend to be very eclectic in the modalities I use. I often work with trauma-informed modalities, supportive and person-centered approaches, as well as CBT, DBT, and ACT.
While I enjoy working with all age groups, I find it can be challenging to work with younger children in an online setting. Currently, I'm focusing on clients aged 12 to 13 and all the difficulties and drama that those years can bring, up to 70-year-old adults who might be looking back or forward and having difficulty making life transitions.
I understand there may be some who question whether a therapist can understand the perspectives of these two seemingly very different groups. To those, I would respond that who we are at 12 and 13 forms who we become in our later years, whether those experiences benefit us or harm us.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with an MA, and I specialize in areas such as suicidal ideation and self-harming, military and veteran support, depression, trauma, adolescent and teen mental/behavioral health, PTSD, grief and bereavement, gender identity, spirituality, dissociative disorders, LGBTQIA+ support, children's mental/behavioral health, intimate and romantic relationships, stress, and anxiety. I also offer SonderMind Video Telehealth for those who prefer or require remote sessions.
I would love to meet you and have further conversations about what is happening in your life and what I can offer in terms of helping you navigate these struggles. Hopefully, we can also find some time to laugh and be lighthearted. Let's work together to find a path forward that feels right for you.
