Hello, I'm Jo-Ann. Hope is an optimistic state of mind based on expectations of positive outcomes for one's life. Are you struggling to hold on to hope? To your belief in a positive future, positive relationships, or positive mindsets? I am a hope dealer. It is my passion to be an agent of change for those struggling to hold on to hope in a world that seems to be full of despair. The first step to change is hope, as it takes belief that things can change for change to happen. That's where I come in as your hope dealer.
The mind is a complex place, full of layers where we process our world, our relationships, and our identity. It takes boldness and bravery to be willing to face the shadows and address one's pain. As you face them, I'm excited to be with you along your journey, knowing that change and hope are only the beginning. I use a Cognitive Behavioral and Humanistic approach to help my clients bring out the change they desire.
I have over 10 years of experience in the field, working with a diverse population of individuals in community-based agencies, social services settings, and a child advocacy center. I obtained a Master's degree in Clinical Counseling in 2015 from Argosy University. I am also a Licensed Professional Counselor.
My specialties include grief and bereavement, anger management, spirituality, family relationships, anxiety, suicidal ideation and self-harming, intimate and romantic relationships, adolescent and teen mental and behavioral health, depression, stress, and trauma.
It takes a lot of courage to reach out for help and to begin your journey of mental health wellness. It is my hope that you will contact me so that we can begin this journey of change together. Let's see if we're a good fit. I look forward to walking this path with you.
