It can be vulnerable to reach out for support and it takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life. I am here to support and empower you in that journey. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. Whether you are experiencing anxiety or depression, family or relationship conflict, or exploring your identity and life goals, there is hope—therapy can help you move through your current challenges and get you feeling better.
We will work together to reach your goals, release shame and guilt, face fears, and manage any risky behaviors. Every person heals differently, and I use a variety of techniques from evidence-based treatments including EMDR for trauma, Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS), Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and Emotion-Focused Couples Therapy.
I believe having a treatment plan is essential to helping you achieve your goals through therapy. I open sessions by asking for an update specifically about the areas of your life you want to address in therapy. In sessions, I take notes that often include direct quotes from my clients so I can come back to their specific wording to help explore deeper or not bypass significant issues by letting the conversation flow away. I like to plan ahead for my sessions to be prepared to connect details from past sessions with the new information to keep us moving towards your goals, and I like to assign meaningful homework.
I started my career at the Utah Pride Center, working with LGBTQ+ teens and adults, and am now a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) practicing in Georgia. I have extensive experience working with people who experience suicidal ideation to increase safety and move beyond surviving and towards thriving.
