Hello, I'm Jeffrey. I am licensed by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners as a Licensed Professional Counselor and am also a Nationally Certified Counselor. I earned my master's degree in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University in 2017.
Before I entered private practice, I spent four years as a therapist contracted with the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation, and Re-Entry, providing services in various state prisons, including Death Row. This experience has given me a deep understanding of mental health conditions that can lead to stress, anxiety, and depression. I have extensive experience working with individuals facing challenges such as trauma, depression, anxiety, psychosis, personality disorders, substance use disorders, and gender dysphoria.
As an active duty military veteran, I served over eight and a half years in the U.S. Army, both on active duty and in the Army Reserve. Following my military service, I dedicated 20 years to working for the State of Arizona before my retirement.
My therapeutic approach is centered on being open, supportive, and an active listener. I believe that each individual possesses the power to address fears, distress, and uneasiness from within. In my role as your therapist, my focus will be on listening and assisting you in finding your inner strengths to overcome obstacles and acquire skills for lifelong growth.
I currently offer Telehealth sessions exclusively, with availability on Monday-Thursday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Please note that my calendar appointments are set to Central Time Zone.
On a personal note, I enjoy riding motorcycles and bicycles—anything on two wheels. I also love cooking and grilling at home, playing recreational adult co-ed soccer, and occasionally jumping out of airplanes for fun.
If you have any questions or would like to schedule a consultation, please feel free to reach out to me at JeffBaumLPC@gmail.com or text me at (520) 487-1985. I look forward to working with you.
