Jayant Thomas
I’m an independent Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of Ohio with 15 years of experience. I’ve worked in the mental health field in general since 2001. I earned a BA in Music from Principia College in 1991 and Master of Rehabilitation Counseling from Bowling Green State University in 2000. In 2004 I received my Professional Counselor designation and in 2009 I received my Professional Clinical Counselor licensure. I’ve worked with a variety of populations including severe and persistent mental illness (schizophrenia and psychotic disorders), dual diagnosis (mental and substance use), anxiety, depression, trauma, and bipolar disorder. I’ve also worked in a crisis capacity as an emergency services mental health assessor, and worked with incarcerated youth. I help people come to grips with their internal struggles through cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and person-centered modalities however my practice influences are quite broad. I believe in empowering individuals to be their best self, to defeat the odds and reach their potential in achieving their goals and dreams.
