Jane Franks
Jane Franks, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, has over 15 years experience working with adults with depression and anxiety disorders. She has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings in urban and rural areas across the US and understands the obstacles that individuals living in remote areas have had obtaining mental health care prior to telehealth becoming more prevalent. Jane utilizes a patient centered approach and believes that partnering with her patients is paramount to good outcomes. She understands that good patient relationships are based upon trust and open honest communication. She believes in patient education so her patients can make wise choices towards their wellness. She is a fierce advocate for those who have experienced trauma and is experienced in working with patients with PTSD. When not working, Jane enjoys traveling, camping, and spending time with family, friends and her pets. She values quiet time alone as well as attending events with thousands of others. Jane has been an adjunct professor and preceptor for nursing and other mental health professional students. She also served as a former Chair of the Alaska Rural Mental Health Association, and was Director of Mental Health in a previous position. While honored by these experiences, Jane values seeing improvements in her patients above all else.
