Hello! I'm Jamila and I have been working as a social worker for almost 10 years. I've worked with people from all walks of life facing many different issues. And with this diverse background, I have found some commonalities. Often what we need is a safe, non-judgmental space to make sense of what we feel, find where we are stuck, and learn tools to help us cope more effectively with life's challenges. I am a collaborative and client-centered therapist here to offer this space to people as I support them in pursuing their mental health goals. I implement behavior based approaches like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to increase your ability to relate to your struggles more effectively and to pursue what matters most to you. I earned my Bachelors of Social Work from Northeastern Illinois University and a Masters of Social Work from Dominican University. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and I bring a thoughtful trauma-informed lens to my work with all people.
