Hello, I'm Erin. With 28 years of experience in the field, I've had the privilege of working with a wide variety of populations in many different settings. I hold a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision and an MA in Counseling and Rehabilitation. I am independently licensed as a professional counselor in Kentucky, Ohio, and Missouri. My practice primarily revolves around an existential-humanistic approach, but I also incorporate evidence-based therapies tailored to treat the specific disorders, symptoms, or behaviors that each individual presents. Additionally, I provide hypnotherapy and EMDR therapy to support my clients' healing processes.
I believe that therapy is most effective when there is a strong therapeutic alliance between the client and the therapist. This alliance is built on genuine, unconditional positive regard, and empathy. When these elements are present, they create a safe space where clients feel comfortable being open and honest, allowing them to work through issues and problems without fear of judgment or criticism. I feel deeply honored to serve and treat the people I do, and I am committed to fostering this kind of supportive environment.
Beyond my therapy practice, I have a special interest in multiculturalism, social justice, and advocacy work. I recognize that external social factors can significantly impact our emotional well-being, and I am actively involved in activism that I believe will help improve the lives of the people I serve. By addressing these broader issues, I aim to create a more just and equitable world for all.
If you feel that we might be a good fit, I would be honored to work with you on your journey toward healing and growth.
