Hi, I'm Em. During times of unmitigated stress, problems and worries pile up, creating emotional and psychic loads that block personal growth and hamper well-being. Therapy can increase the quality of life by giving us the space to let go of old patterns that no longer serve us and replace them with healthier, more effective ways of coping and relating to the world.
Prior to becoming a licensed independent clinical social worker (LICSW), I attended Smith College School for Social Work, receiving my master's degree in clinical social work in 2019. I began working in community mental health in 2015 as a residential counselor. Since 2016, both as an intern and MSW/LCSW, I have been providing individual and family therapy, and case management, at community outpatient clinics, as well as at partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs.
Suicidal ideation, disordered eating, gender transition, psychosis, and complex PTSD are among the multitude of clinical need areas that I have assisted my clients in moving through. I've worked with clients across the age, ability, and economic spectrum, and helped individuals and families overcome hardships in the realms of work, relationships, school, and the like.
Using an integrative, collaborative, DBT-based approach, I aim to put clients back in the driver's seat of their own lives by supporting and facilitating deep inner work. I see the therapeutic relationship itself as a mode of healing. I use radical acceptance to meet each of my clients where they are at, where they have been, or where they might be headed in their life journey. Together, let's build a strong foundation and, hopefully, a safe harbor in which long-lasting change can flourish.
If you're ready to start this journey, I'm here to support you every step of the way.
