Hello, I'm Emily! Navigating life, day to day, is a challenge! Life can bring a roller-coaster of emotions as we are faced with opportunities, choices, questions, heartache, and transition. It is normal to wonder if you are making the right choice and if you have the abilities to navigate all that comes with being a person. Allow me to help you develop the skills and build your inherent strength so that you can manage, survive, and thrive!
I use an integrative, strengths-based, therapeutic approach which will lead to an improved sense of well-being. Together with my bubbly personality and direct communication style, I will alleviate your sense of uncertainty and get you to a place of resolving any crisis you encounter. I trust that you are an expert on yourself and will help you uncover the best version of you. With over 12 years of experience, I am able to build strong therapeutic rapport, allowing the client to express their truth in the counseling relationship. Life is a journey, and I will support you where you are and will collaborate so that you can feel truly heard and supported.
Discover the best you by enforcing all the great things that live inside of you; learn coping skills, self-care practices, and strength-building techniques to manage life’s transitions. My specialties include: school and career/work adjustment concerns, relationship difficulties, stress management, personal/social adjustment, and persistent difficulties with personal and business relationships. My style incorporates trauma-responsiveness as well as culturally appropriate approaches for clients; I am empathetic and deeply care about those in our therapeutic relationship. I hold steadfast hope for my clients and provide true unconditional support.
I live in Denver, Colorado, and am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Addictions Specialist, National Board Certified Counselor, and Professional School Counselor. I currently work for the University of Colorado's Kempe Center as its Program Coordinator for their Trauma-Responsive Implementation and Practice Program. I have been married for 14 years, have two young sons, am a huge "swiftie," and care for a very energetic wheaten terrier.
My Clinical approaches include:
- Client-Centered Therapy
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Motivational Interviewing
- Solution-Focused Therapy
- Trauma-Focused Therapy
- Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT)
If you're ready to embark on this journey together, I'm here to support you every step of the way. Let's uncover the best version of you!
