Hello, I'm Elysia, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a passion for helping individuals navigate life's challenges. My approach to therapy is integrative and non-judgmental, incorporating Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), eclectic therapy, and narrative therapy. I always maintain a trauma-focused perspective, providing you with specific training and strategies to equip you with the tools needed for daily living.
I work with teens, adults, and couples who are dealing with a wide range of issues, including addiction, alcohol use, anger management, anxiety, behavioral issues, bipolar disorder, borderline personality, chronic impulsivity, codependency, coping skills, depression, divorce, domestic violence, drug abuse, and more. My goal is to help you create and maintain your goals so you can begin to live the life you are seeking, with progress being met at your pace.
My communication style is direct and focused, yet always non-judgmental. I listen attentively and help you find ways to create balance and well-being in your life. I believe in getting you to a point of comfort as quickly and effectively as possible.
Becoming a therapist has been a journey shaped by both my personal and professional experiences. These experiences have fostered a genuine love for all people, regardless of their cultural or ethnic background. I find being a therapist specializing in trauma to be an enriching career. The honor of being entrusted with someone's deepest secrets or overwhelming experiences, the incredible human connection, and the opportunity to be authentic and present are invaluable to me. Witnessing a person's face light up with hope for the future and seeing their wounds become their strengths and meaning for the future are the greatest rewards for me as a therapist.
In our first session, we will have an introduction period where we get to know each other. I want to ensure that we are a good fit and that I can provide what you are seeking in therapy. Together, we will set up a plan, make goals, and understand where you want to be within the timeframe you prefer.
I look forward to embarking on this journey with you and supporting you every step of the way.
