Hello, I'm Liz Troxel, a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Colorado. With over 25 years of experience working with individuals and families, and over 8 years specifically as a mental health professional, I am passionate about helping people navigate life's challenges and find their path to healing and growth.
I earned my master’s degree in counseling from Colorado Christian University in 2016. My specialties include treating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, ADHD, parenting issues, and personality disorders. I believe in a person-centered, goal-oriented approach to foster growth and well-being. During my internship, I had the privilege of working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, and I continue to support individuals in these difficult situations, offering hope and healing.
Another passion of mine is aiding and encouraging parents with children of all ages. Raising children in today’s world can be quite challenging, and I am here to help. I use evidence-based practices including CBT, DBT, Family Systems, MST, and Mindfulness. I am also trained in EMDR and am an ADHD-certified clinical services provider. It's important to me to work collaboratively with my clients to create a treatment plan that is mutually agreed upon and tailored to their specific needs.
I am empathetic and nonjudgmental in my approach, creating a safe and supportive environment as we explore feelings and work towards meaningful change. I believe in empowering individuals to develop coping skills and strategies that build resilience and lead to more fulfilling lives. Continued growth and staying current with the latest research in the mental health field is important to me, so I regularly attend professional development conferences, trainings, and workshops to enhance my skills and provide the highest standard of care.
When I'm not working with clients, I enjoy baking, taking road trips with my husband, and spending lots of family time supporting my children and grandchildren in their hobbies and sporting events. I also love to read and strive to work daily on my own mindfulness and peace.
If you're ready to take the next step towards healing and growth, I would be honored to support you on your journey.
