We are mostly troubled by our perceptions of the situations around us, not by the situations themselves. Sometimes, our thoughts are the scary part of our story, not our reality. And even when reality gets harsh, our thoughts and the way we see this reality will determine how we feel about it and how much we suffer. I am an LPC who practices mostly cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). I share the tools that are not only evidence-based and supported by extensive research but also that I've seen work with me and my clients/patients. Working on our thoughts and behaviors will affect every aspect of our lives, and relationships. We do not have to be a hostage to our unhelpful thoughts, we have tools to work on that. Anxiety, depression, PTSD, OCD, and relationship troubles are only some of many examples where this kind of therapy can help, and I would like to be that therapist who can help you achieve that change in your life.
