I have had the pleasure to assist many individuals and families find the happiness and harmony they are seeking. I have also had the honor to provide guidance and support to clients navigating some of the hardest experiences in their lives.
Greetings, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with 30 years of experience working with individuals, couples and families. I frequently assist people navigating complex life situations, couples counseling, separation and divorce, blended family issues and major mental health diagnoses such as PTSD, bipolar, depression and anxiety. I have focused experience in working with military families, active duty and spouses. I grew up as an Army dependent, was active-duty Navy for 4 years and then a Navy dependent spouse for another 6 years so my understanding of the military culture is first hand. I’ve also spent well over 15 years working with families who have children who have ADHD, behavioral and emotional problems. For several years I had a private practice where I primarily assisted individuals experiencing marital discord, infidelity, divorce and separation, depression, anxiety and family stressors.
My approach to therapy is client/solution focused. I am trained in and use several different therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Psychodynamic therapy and use aspects of all while assisting my clients. I earned my bachelor's degree from East Carolina University and Masters of Social Work from Norfolk State University.
