Hello, I'm Deborah, and I'm here to meet you where you are and help you work toward your goals in life. Whether you're feeling uncertain about what constitutes a meaningful life or navigating through anxiety, depression, or significant life changes, we'll work together to find clarity and healing. If you're exploring gender identity, sexual orientation, or any aspect of our LGBTQ+ community, I'm here to support you in becoming comfortable with the wonderful human you are.
With nearly 30 years of experience, I have had the privilege of working with a diverse range of individuals. My background spans community mental health, inpatient and outpatient settings, federal employee assistance programs, the VA, and private practice. This extensive experience has equipped me to understand and support people from all walks of life. While I welcome and serve all people, you will never find a stronger advocate than me for individuals who identify as members of historically marginalized groups. I hear you. I see you.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, having graduated from the Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis. Additionally, I completed post-graduate training in Marriage and Family Therapy through the Karl Menninger School of Psychiatry. One of my significant post-graduate trainings was the 6-month certification process in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) through Behavioral Tech, Dr. Marsha Linehan's training company. DBT's strong mindfulness component integrates well with cognitive-behavioral therapies, and I find it essential in my practice.
Currently, I work exclusively with adults (18 and older), and my practice is informed by all my training, focusing on what works best for each client. My specialties include OCD, spirituality, addiction, ADHD, medical issues, sleep disorders, anxiety, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, depression, family relationships, gender identity, grief, LGBTQIA+ support, life transitions, military/veteran support, multicultural/diversity issues, PTSD, stress, suicidal ideation, self-harming, trauma, and traumatic brain injury. I also offer SonderMind Video Telehealth for those who prefer virtual sessions.
If you're ready to start this journey together, I'm here to support you every step of the way. Let's work together to create the meaningful life you deserve.
