Hello, I'm Debbie. I completed my B.A. in Psychology and Communication from Austin College and earned my Master’s degree in Social Work at The University of Texas at Arlington. Additionally, I'm a Certified Mediator in Civil and Family Law from Southern Methodist University. With over 25 years of clinical experience in various settings, including inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care, crisis intervention, and grief/bereavement counseling, I've had the privilege of working with a diverse range of clients.
I specialize in areas such as depression, anxiety disorders, family and relationship issues, grief and loss, trauma and abuse, chronic pain and illness, and many more. Whether you're dealing with life transitions, perinatal and postpartum challenges, or navigating the complexities of intimate relationships, I'm here to support you.
My approach to therapy is holistic and eclectic, drawing from best practices in DBT, CPT, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and short-term problem-solving. I believe in a strengths-based approach, working in partnership with you to utilize your inherent strengths and resources. Together, we can identify challenging thought patterns and establish new perspectives and coping skills to help you navigate life's transitions.
I understand the importance of considering all aspects of your life that impact your well-being, including physical health, support systems, work or school environment, and spirituality. With a blend of caring, respect, and a touch of humor, I aim to help you gain insight, see new possibilities, and create meaningful change.
If you're ready to take the next step towards a healthier and brighter outlook, I invite you to reach out. Let's work together to achieve your goals and unlock your full potential.
