Reaching out for support takes strength and courage. I respect this, and my aim is to create a calm, inviting atmosphere where a deep sense of trust can grow between client and therapist. I believe that pain shared is pain lessened and that people can and do recover from issues that have been troubling them for years. I have found that many people enter therapy not because of a complex mental health issue but because of a general feeling of life not being what they would like it to be. I've been there. Many years ago I embarked on my own personal growth journey and I believe that has made me a more compassionate, empathic therapist. . I am very active in the therapeutic process and give direct feedback and suggestions for implementing lifestyle changes. During my time as a therapist I have extensive experience with addiction/alcoholism, depression/anxiety, trauma and relationship issues. I work with individuals, couples and families utilizing an eclectic approach including Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Solution Focused Brief (SFBT) and Person-Centered Therapies. My goal is to help clients equip themselves with the skills, clarity, meaning and self-awareness, so they are better able to experience a more meaningful and satisfying life.
