I have twenty-five years of healthcare experience, most of which was in military medicine. I started my career as a mental health specialist and worked in inpatient psychiatric wards. I later became an RN and worked in Medical-Surgical Nursing. I then earned my Family Nurse Practitioner and worked in Family Medicine in the Primary Care Role. After retiring from the Army, I went back to school to obtain my Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, as I was drawn back to Mental Health, where it all began for me.
While working in healthcare for the past 25 years, I have experienced the value of human connection between caregiver and patient in various roles and settings. Every individual I have provided care for has their own story, a unique set of experiences that has shaped them. Understanding these individual differences helps establish individual plans of care.
Upon establishing a therapeutic relationship with my clients, I strive to learn their stories and help them overcome their struggles. I aim to help clients find meaning and purpose, improve their quality of life, and achieve contentment. I have named my clinic after “eudaimonia,” which means ‘good spirit’ and is translated from Greek simply as ‘happiness.’ Eudaimonia is described as the condition of human flourishing, and this philosophy
