I'm Cody! In my practice, I primarily work with folks who have experienced challenges with depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, or self-esteem challenges, I am here to guide you every step of the way, help you figure out what exactly is causing the internal distress as well as find a way to manage and resolve that distress! I lean on a number of therapeutic modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Mindfulness based practices. There certainly can be a stigma or a fair bit of shame placed on people struggling with mental health which makes it important for me to approach my sessions with you each day with a strong sense of curiosity. When I am not at work, I am usually out on the water fly fishing or running along my local trails. I went to Springfield College for my Bachelors degree in Recreation Management but eventually felt a calling to be a therapist. This calling brought me to Boston University for my Masters in Social Work. Whatever brings you to Sondermind, I am honored to be part of the journey. If this is your first time in counseling—or if you've had negative experiences with mental health providers in the past—I aim to provide a comfortable and affirming therapeutic space.
