Being an adult can sometimes feel like you're on a roller coaster ride! Life isn't linear - it involves twists, turns, ups, and downs. We might feel "stuck" on the ride and aren't quite sure how to navigate getting off of it. Or we may find our “downs” might make us feel anxious, depressed, overwhelmed, or stuck. The "ups" might be exciting, but may also come with their own sets of stressors. We might want to get off the ride or take a gentler one, but not know how. And that's okay! Therapy can help. Life doesn't have to feel like you're going on a thrill ride every day - you can get on a gentler ride. Of course, we don't always know how to get off the ride or swap seats for a gentler ride (like the "kiddie roller coaster"). That's where I come in! I'm here to support you with the challenges you might be facing in life, offer you a space to reflect or process, plus find new ways to cope so you don't feel like you're on a thrill ride all the time.
I am a Master's level LCPC from Illinois who has been working in the field for almost a decade. My work with clients has demonstrated the effectiveness of teletherapy and I'm a firm believer in this modality. I'm passionate about offering clients teletherapy because of the accessibility and convenience it offers clients. It's also wonderful to connect with clients all over the state of Illinois and otherwise wouldn't get to meet!
In my work, I offer individual therapy via teletherapy for adults. As a therapist who often works with this age group, I frequently see clients who could use extra support but also want to take action by finding solutions for their concerns and/or wish to find more effective methods to cope with what’s bothering them. I commonly work with clients who are going through a big life transition or are trying to cope with significant life changes. Frequent concerns that tend to pop up in my work with clients include anxiety, depression, stress, overwhelm, irritability, low motivation, feeling "stuck", problems sleeping and burnout. I also work with clients who experience the following difficulties: chronic health concerns, chronic pain, work-life balance, boundary setting, and communication skills.
Therapy is not "one size fits all". Therefore, I offer a tailored approach to best match their identities, concerns, and preferences. With that said, I draw upon different forms of therapy I've been trained in and describe my work as "eclectic". Frequent forms of therapy I work with are CBT, ACT, DBT, solution-focused, motivational interviewing, and person-centered. I am here to offer support and help you process whatever is on your mind plus increase your coping skills. As a therapist, I value collaborating with my clients to determine what steps might work best for them when it comes to treatment planning. Your voice and decisions are important when it comes to our work!
