Hi there! I'm Cari Collins, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a desire to support individuals and families in navigating life's complexities and challenges. Beginning therapy often feels daunting due to the nature of confronting difficult emotions and the fear of being judged. I have personally been on the other side of the couch, and I aim to destigmatize therapy by normalizing the conversation around mental health.
In 2017, I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (Go Badgers!) with a Master's degree in Social Work and am currently practicing as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Colorado. For the past five years, I have worked in a variety of settings including community mental health, outpatient mental health, urban school districts, hospice care, and a pediatric partial hospitalization program.
I focus on individuals of all ages, while holding a special interest in working with teens and adults. My first and foremost goal is to provide a nonjudgmental space for clients to feel safe and empowered. I utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Strengths-Based Therapy, Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), and Family-Based Treatment (FBT) for adolescent eating disorders.
I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, family relationships, grief and bereavement, life transitions, phobias, stress, anger management, ADHD, gender identity, LGBTQIA+ support, medical issues, multicultural and diversity issues, perinatal support, spirituality, and suicidal ideation and self-harming behaviors. I also offer SonderMind Video Telehealth for those who prefer virtual sessions.
I look forward to partnering with you on the journey to mental well-being. Whether you're dealing with a specific issue or just need someone to talk to, I'm here to help. Let's work together to create a path forward that feels right for you.
