Later, during her graduate program, she provided outpatient counseling to children, adolescents, and their families at a mental health community service board in VA. Her dedication to mental health led her to work in the inpatient psychiatric unit at a local hospital, where she provided counseling services and completed mental health evaluations for several years. She also served as the clinical site director/supervisor for a mental health company, managing multiple employees and programs. With a passion for education, she provided training to the community on mental health disorders and supportive treatments. During her doctoral degree, she conducted scientific research on family caregiver stress and coping styles, which she later published. With extensive knowledge of various mental health disorders, including major depression, anxiety, trauma, and bipolar disorder, she has been in private practice for the past 12 years, offering outpatient counseling to children and adults. During the COVID pandemic, she began and continues to conduct telehealth counseling online, providing mental health counseling to adults and veterans through Sondermind Therapy. In her counseling sessions, she prioritizes creating a comfortable and non-judgmental environment for her clients. She utilizes the client-centered therapy approach, empowering clients to take an active role in their therapy. For clients with depression and anxiety, she incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), helping them identify and change negative thought patterns. For patients who have experienced severe traumas, she utilizes trauma-informed therapy to provide support and healing. Her educational background includes an Associate of Arts and Science degree, a Bachelor of Science degree in College and Community Counseling, a Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychology, and a Ph.D. in Psychology & Philosophy. She is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) certified by the Commonwealth of Virginia Health Board. Her dedication to the field of mental health and her commitment to helping others shines through in her work, as she strives to empower individuals, alleviate mental health symptoms, and promote overall well-being. During her spare time, she enjoys spending time in nature, and at home with her close family, friends, siamese cat, and beagle dog.
