
April Viverette
Dr. April Viverette is a licensed clinical social worker and behavioral health therapist who earned her BS in Psychology from Jackson State University, MSW from University of Houston, MBA from Texas Woman’s University, and PhD at Our Lady of the Lake University. Dr. Viverette engages in evidence based clinical practice with people that may be experiencing stress and life transitions, depression, anxiety, psychosis, ADHD, substance use, anger issues, workplace and family/relationship conflicts, mental health and substance use barriers to weight management, chronic pain, among others. April uses a trauma lens to work with clients aged 16 and older, adults as well as older adults, and couples. April is trained in treatment approaches that includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Emotional Freedom Tapping, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Person Centered Therapy, Brief Solution Focused Therapy, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, and other therapeutic approach to include use of an Integrative Approach that is tailored to each client's unique strengths and areas client's seek to address in a behavioral health therapeutic space. April engages in teaching the next generation of students and clinical social workers, and maintains an active research agenda that is connected to the clinical services that she provides to her clients. Her favorite hobby is to swim and travel as her most recent travel destinations include Fiji, New Zealand, Thailand, & Cambodia.
