Hello, I'm Angela. As a psychotherapist with over eleven years of experience, I thoroughly enjoy working with a variety of demographics and issues. I'm here to guide, support, and encourage you through relational communication and intimacy issues, anxiety, depression, navigating and healing from narcissistic abuse, and career transitions or adjustments to any kind of life changes.
My approach is warm and intuitive, primarily using a Person-Centered approach, but I also incorporate other modalities tailored to each of my unique clients. These can include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Existential Therapy, and Family Systems Theory. In our first session, I'll take the time to listen and get to know you, understand your reasons for seeking therapy, and identify your primary goals. Together, we can come up with 'action steps' to keep you focused and on track.
I believe in doing a lot of listening so you can be reassured that your problems and concerns will be heard and understood. As a therapist, I am careful not to unethically give direct advice but rather assist you in coming to your own best conclusions and life decisions. From a Person-Centered approach, I believe that you ultimately have the answers within yourself.
I'll conclude with a quote from the father of Person-Centered philosophy, Carl Rogers: 'The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.'
I look forward to the opportunity to work with you and support you on your journey.
