The importance of understanding the mind and its profound complexity, establishes the central role, that I help to facilitate between identifying, addressing, and alleviating one's presenting concerns. This requires a great deal of commitment, that I look forward to exploring with you as we navigate this focused time together. Choosing to establish roots in this profession brings great satisfaction, both professionally and personally, to me, as I assist in one's intimate journey of mental health.
I received a Bachelor's in Social Work in 2010, from the University of West Florida and began a post-graduation career in child-welfare organizations, that provided a framework in working with populations of underprivileged minors and families. In 2013, I completed my Masters in Social Work, from The University of New England, with a concentration on individuals, families, and groups through a clinical, academia framework. Upon graduating from the University of West Florida, I received a position with Families' First Network, assisting families within the state of Florida's child welfare system to reinforce positive parenting resources and oversight for children deemed adjudicated by Child Protective Services. Two after graduating with a Bachelor's degree, I began a program from the University of New England's Master's in social work program, with a concentration in individuals, families, and groups. After relocating to California, I partnered with Seasons' Hospice and Palliative Care for a field practicum during the program. Upon graduation from the Master's program, I was offered a position as a bereavement social worker. There, my time was spend tending to calls associated with end of life concerns, collaboration with field disciplines for the continuity of care, and facilitated comfort to clients and loved one's during the phases of the end of one's life. After relocating to Virginia in 2016, I applied to become a Supervisee in Social Work. I became employed at Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center, where I assessed client's upon admission and administered bio-psychosocial assessments There, I conduced and facilitated groups among patients', who were admitted both voluntarily and involuntarily. In an in-patient setting, I implemented Solution- Focused Therapy, Cognitive- Behavioral Therapy, and Narrative Therapy, along with several assessments to gauge for substance abuse, and psychosis, suicidal and homicidal ideation. Upon passing the Board of Social Work examination, I was hired through the Department of Defense as a Military Family Life Counselor, to act as a liaison among the school setting, students, and their families. The role of an MFLC was to facilitate and to educate teachers, administrators, and parents of services or benefits and student is afforded to receive upon completion of a consent form. In 2022, I responded to a more pronounced, clinical focus, in an out-patient organization, to address concerns of individuals, couples, and families alike. I look forward to becoming a professional facilitator, that provides essential guidance in the moral, intellectual, emotional, and physical dimensions of one's life.
