Hello, I'm Abigail. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from UC Denver and have been a Licensed Professional Counselor since January 2019. With several years of clinical experience since 2016, I have had the privilege of working with a diverse range of clients spanning from age 8 to 80. Throughout my practice, I have witnessed the immense potential within every individual to become their best self and lead a fulfilling life.
In my therapeutic approach, I prioritize a client-centered perspective, viewing my clients as individuals with problems rather than defining them solely by their problems. I rely on evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques to challenge negative distortions in thinking and help reframe these thoughts into more positive and productive realities. Additionally, I emphasize the importance of mindfulness skills, assisting clients in cultivating the ability to stay present and centered in the moment, rather than getting caught up in ruminations about the past or anxieties about the future.
Central to my philosophy is the belief in building a strong rapport with my clients. I approach therapy with a non-judgmental and open-minded stance, recognizing that we are all human beings who face challenges and make mistakes. By fostering a compassionate and accepting environment, I strive to create a safe space for my clients to explore their concerns and work towards personal growth.
I specialize in a range of areas including Anger Management, Anxiety, ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, Depression, Family relationships, Life transitions, PTSD, Military/Veteran support, Spirituality, Grief/Bereavement, Intimate/Romantic relationships, Stress, Suicidal ideation and/or self-harming, Trauma, and Addiction. Whether you are dealing with a specific issue or seeking more general support, I am here to help.
Collaboratively, we will work together to identify and overcome the obstacles that you currently face, aiming to create a positive and fulfilling life that is free from the grip of depression and anxiety. I firmly believe that each day presents an opportunity for transformative change, and I am committed to supporting you on your journey towards a better life. If you're ready to take the first step, I invite you to reach out and begin this journey together.
