Maci Scudder
I earned my BA in psychology from UA Fayetteville, followed by a Master’s degree in social work at UA Little Rock. With diverse experience in inpatient & outpatient settings, I specialize in EMDR & DBT therapies, supporting those often rejected by mental healthcare due to stigma. While working in the private setting, I found another passion in working with adults with ADHD. Another overlooked, underserved group, I worked to become certified in clinical services & fill another gap. I prioritize creating a safe, trusting space with empathy & acceptance. My approach blends techniques from DBT & EMDR, tailored to your needs, with mindfulness as a foundation. Using behavioral & psychodynamic theory, we explore patterns & make meaningful changes to build a life worth living. Think of me as a companion on your journey, empowering you to engage in self exploration with confidence. Nonjudgmental guidance to uncover what you already have within you is my goal. Sessions are guided by the collaborative treatment plan we make after your intake. This plan is never cut & paste, formed using your own words, & reviewed with you for your input or changes. This guides our sessions, but it’s not rigid. I like to give small challenges over “assignments,” & given the nature of my specialty areas, I am fairly flexible with between-session contact for quick updates, check-ins. Clients also send me brief messages if they have something to remember for next session.
