Jessica Sommar
I am a depth psychotherapist working with individuals and couples suffering from trauma, attachment pain, addictions, overthinking and loss of motivation. If you experience chronic pain, illness and face end-of-life issues, I have over a decade working in hospitals and healthcare and can help. Creating a safe and trusting connection together we can explore who you are and what happened to you. My vision is to re-ignite your capacity to choose how you want to be and live and love in the world. My approach is intuitive and relational. Treatment modalities include insight and psychodynamic psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, pastoral psychotherapy and mindfulness practices. In psychotherapy, we work together to sort out the here and now pains and problems. In psychoanalysis, we work to uncover hidden thoughts, feelings and identifications that have unconsciously undermined your best efforts, hopes and dreams. Our time together is a no-judgment zone to build safety, respect and trust. You may begin to get back in touch with your body and feeling alive. As you find the words and express what happened, grieving can begin; suffering lifts and new insights transform behaviors and attitudes. Relief emerges. You may finally mourn losses you thought impossible. You create boundaries and relationships that work.
