Heather Morgan
I was drawn to the field of social work due to its focus on social justice. Settings I've worked in include community mental health, college counseling, primary care clinics, and private practice. I help people with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, shame, anger, dealing with life transitions, and creating a more values-driven life. Some modalities I use are Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Brainspotting, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and EMDR. My therapeutic approach includes compassion, authenticity, curiosity, and humor. I strive to create a comfortable environment for you to express your true self, explore feelings, process issues, and develop skills and insights to live more fully and with greater intentionality. Throughout the process, I recognize your individuality, while maintaining awareness of social and cultural factors that can impact our ways of being in the world and how the world responds to us. Feeling heard and less burdened, with new insights, more constructive perspectives, and greater hope. To increase progress, I encourage clients to spend time between sessions reflecting on sessions, developing insights, practicing coping methods, and working on concrete goals.
