Vivian Hodges
What would a path of tranquility look like for you? This path is guided through a person centered, trauma informed cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and solution-based focused approach. This is shown as I have accessed my creativity through a person centered and CBT approach, specifically, creating worry monsters to decrease anxious symptoms to challenge their negative thoughts for elementary students. My resourcefulness also extends to adolescents and adults by focusing on their strengths to decrease trauma symptoms through painting or other holistic approaches. I have helped guide children, adolescents, and adults through the path to tranquility as a Crisis Response Specialist, Foster Care Family Counselor, School-Based Therapist, and a School Social Worker to heal hearts as they find their path to tranquillity. My goal as a mental health provider is to view the whole person through the Maslow hierarchy of needs, specifically, connecting clients to community-based resources for basic needs, increasing their social emotional growth through community resources and therapeutic approaches, and also connecting clients to safe and supportive people to build upon their therapeutic goals. This is shown as I have guided individuals to connect with free grief support groups, volunteer at animal shelters, etc. to empower and guide them on their path to tranquility. The ability to guide and witnessed an individual on their path to tranquility through emotional growth as they re-connect in their community is my reason for being a licensed independent social worker.
