Valori Roy
Valori grew up as an Air Force Brat and was fortunate enough to live in Europe for ten years. At an early age she was able to learn how to identify with people from different parts of the world in order to adapt and make friends. She was also a scholar athlete and was able to fulfill the demands and endure the pressure of performance. She began her career as a child development specialist working with children with developmental delays and caregivers with mental health diagnoses. After almost 15 years in the field she has worked with all ages and all levels of functioning. This includes people struggling with making adjustments to major life changes or people designated as seriously mentally ill. She has worked for some wonderful mental health agencies where she was able to gain experience leading groups, mandated substance abuse treatment, collaborate with DCS and the probation system, and is currently an AZ Board of Behavioral Health approved supervisor. Her mantra is "Every person deserves to live the best life possible." Valori’s therapeutic approach is truly holistic meaning the mind and body are equally as important. She has discovered that many times a person can use physiological keys to unlock mental health opportunities for healing and growth. She is a trained yoga teacher and is also currently studying to be a health coach. She has advanced training in personality disorders and trauma. This includes Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), the EMDR treatment modality and uses Polyvagal Informed Trauma Assessments and Interventions. Most recently she became certified in Clinical Military Counseling to stay true to her roots and serve active military service members, veterans, family members, and first responders. She is person centered and solution focused and will work with you to clarify goals, will help you identify personal strengths and natural resources, and process what needs to be processed in order to clear the path and envision a healthier adaptive outlook. Then she will work with you to build skills and apply to your Life Worth Living.
